Sun 14 Feb 1430-1645 LIVE Vikersund men’s individual on Eurosport 1 HD

Fri 19 Feb 1545-1745 LIVE Lahti men’s individual on Eurosport 1 HD

The Ski Jumping World Cup is in Scandinavia this week for rounds 18-20 with LIVE coverage on Eurosport HD.

Round 13 in Zakopane was the first time Peter Prevc failed to finish in first place in 2016. With both Four Hills and Ski Flying World Championship titles under his belt the Slovenian has looked almost unstoppable but Stefan Craft’s victory proves the overall title is not wrapped up yet.

Last year in Vikersund Prevc became the first man to jump 250m on skis last year, only for his world record to be usurped by Anders Fannemel the next day. This week we have two rounds from Norway before moving on to Lahti in Finland.

David Goldstrom provides commentary for Eurosport’s FIS Ski Jumping World Cup coverage.

LIVE IBU Biathlon World Cup Sat 13 Feb 1915-2100 LIVE men’s relay on Eurosport HD Sun 14 Feb 1745-1830 LIVE women’s relay on Eurosport HD

This IBU Biathlon World Cup continues this week with a new event in Presque Isle, USA. Eurosport will provide LIVE coverage from each of the five days of competition as well as comprehensive coverage throughout the season.

France’s Martin Fourcade is the defending overall men’s champion ahead of Norway’s Emil Hegle Svendsen.

Reigning champion Darya Domracheva will be absent for the entirety of the 2015-16 season due to injury, leaving the door open for 2013-14 Kaisa Makarainen of Finland.

The World Cup is made up of nine rounds taking places across Europe and North America from December to March, with athletes competing in individual, sprint, pursuit, mass start and relay events.

Biathlon is regarded as one of the toughest winter sport disciplines, with competitors needing technique and stamina in abundance as they tackle long distance cross-country skiing and be able to lower their heart rate enough to hold the gun steady as they aim at a tiny target.

Skiers set off at regular intervals and race against the clock, with races made up of laps. Competitors have to stop at the shooting range on each circuit to fire at a target using a small-bore rifle without magnifying sights, with either time or distance penalties being added for each target missed.
