BT Showcase – Next Fixtures Announced

Hello all, please see the press release BT kindly sent to me this week – regarding latest European football fixtures and an Aviva Rugby Union match too.  Don’t forget to check out my BT Showcase page at the top, which shows everything which has been on the channel so far!  Again, an absence of British teams in the games being broadcast on Freeview.  Chris

UEFA Europa League quarter final and Aviva Premiership Rugby also set to be broadcast on BT’s Freeview channel

Footballing supremos Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez will be on show on BT Sport Showcase in April as Barcelona and Atletico Madrid battle it out for a place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

The two top sides in Spain’s La Liga will be broadcast live on BT Sport Showcase on Tuesday 5 April. The first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final takes place at the iconic Camp Nou in Barcelona with a 7:45pm kick off.

BT Sport Showcase will also show the UEFA Europa League quarter-final first leg between Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla, the winners of the competition in each of the last two years. The match will take place at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao and kicks off at 8:05pm on April 7.

The following week will see Aviva Premiership Rugby on BT Sport Showcase as Saracens attempt to win the title. The match against Harlequins at the Allianz Arena kicks off at 3pm on Saturday 16 April.

Simon Green, head of BT Sport, said: “Once again Freeview viewers can see some of the best players in the world compete in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League on BT Sport Showcase. Both competitions are nearing the end with teams fiercely competing to lift a trophy at the end of the season. In addition to football, Aviva Premiership Rugby will be broadcast on BT Sport Showcase with Saracens hoping to cement their place in the end of season playoffs for the title. It’s great to be able to give Freeview viewers the opportunity to experience BT Sport’s exclusively live coverage on BT Sport Showcase.”

BT Sport is the only place to watch all of the 351 exclusively live UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League matches. At least 12 UEFA Champions League matches and 14 UEFA Europa League ties will also be shown live on BT Sport Showcase during the season.

Additionally BT Sport channels broadcast 69 Aviva Premiership Rugby games exclusively across the season.
